Fez um dos primeiro hits da disco music, com Love to Love You Baby, tendo depois gravado o fundamental I Feel Love com o produtor Giorgio Moroder, além de outros hits como Hot Stuff, Mc Arthur Park, She Works Hard For The Money e Breakaway.

Com ela vai-se um pedaço importante da música pop/eletrônica dos últimos 40 anos.

Faleceu na Flórida de câncer do pulmão aos 63 anos.

Died today the Disco Queen, singer and fundamental diva of the dance music history.

She released one of the seminal hits of disco, Love To Love You Baby. After that she record IFeel Love alongside the fundamental producer Giorgio Moroder, nor telling about other hits like Hot Stuff, Mc Arthur Park, She Works Hard For The Money and Breakaway.

With her death an important part of the pop/electronica of the last 40 years is lost.

She died of lung cancer at Florida with 63 years old.

Esse é o sintetizador analógico Dark Energy da fabricante alemã Doepfer. Ele foi lançado em 2010 mas já pararam de fabricar devido à dificuldade de se achar o seu chip apropriado.

Ele gera timbres e arpegios que me faz lembrar porque gosto de música eletrônica. Simples assim.

This is the analog synthsizer Dark Energy from the german manufacturer Doepfer. It was released in 2010 but now is discontinued hence to the difficult to find its apropriate chip.

It generates the sounds and arpegios that makes me remember why I love electronic music. Simple as that.

E foi assim que eu conheci o Q Lazzarus, banda obscura de synthpop dos 90: em Silêncio dos Inocentes o personagem psicopata Buffalo Bill se maquia enquanto sua próxima vítima tenta escapar do cativeiro capturando seu pet “precious”. Ao mesmo tempo em que se sente a agonia da prisioneira, se vê uma estranha cena de um transexual em seu  momento de transformação, culminando com uma cena engraçada em que Buffalo Bill esconde o sexo simulando ser uma mulher.

E tudo embalado por um synthpop desconhecido melancólico e ao mesmo tempo familiar (lembra a banda When In Rome). O enquadramento e a edição torna tudo mais leve, mas sente-se que o pior está por vir. Filme assustador.

This is how I discovered Q Lazzarus, an obscure band of 90´s synthpop: in the film Silence of the Lambs the psycho carachter Buffalo Bill makes up while his next victim tries to escape of her dungeon capturing his pet “precious”. At the same time you feel the captured girl´s agony, you see an strange transformation scene of what reveals to be a transexual, culminating in a sort of funny situation when Buffalo Bill hides his sex aiming to be a women.

And everything is completed by this unknown an melancholic synthpop, strangely familiar (sounds like the band When In Rome). The framework and edition turns everything lighter, but make no mistake, something worst is going to happen. Scary film.

Sempre fui fã dos Orbital, um dos melhores grupos eletrônicos dos anos 1990. Após um hiato de 8 anos (!) eles estão voltando com o álbum Wonky, a ser lançado em 1 de abril. No clip abaixo eles dão uma prévia do que vem aí. Coisa boa, minha gente.

I was always an Orbital fan, one of the best live acts from the 90′s. After an hiatus of 8 years (!) they are releasing on april, the first Wonky, their new album. Seeing the video below we can expect only the best. Wicked stuff, folks.
